Abstract
This article presents an application of different control strategies to highlight the performances of an induction generator in a wind system. First, a direct torque control (DTC) method was applied and then, to have a constant frequency and a low THD in the network current, a modulated hysteresis torque control (MHDTC) was used. To verify the high performances of this method, a comparison with two other control strategies based on field oriented control theory (FOC) has been made. The first one used a conventional PI controller and the second one used a Fuzzy Logic controller (FOC+FLC). Simulation results obtained using Matlab/Simulink, under a variable wind profile using the four control strategies, are presented and compared taking into account the electromagnetic torque ripple, the power factor, the current distortion, the frequency, losses and the efficiency
