The proposed 1 × 4 antenna array operating at 2.45 GHz, based on defected ground structure (DGS), electromagnetic band gap (EBG), and multilayer parasitic elements, is designed using a commercial substrate FR-4 with relative dielectric constant of 4.3, thickness of 1.5 mm, copper thickness of 0.035 mm and loss tangent of 0.017. The antenna offers -10 dB bandwidth of 180 MHz with beam width, gain, and directivity to be 24.7°, 10.90 dB and 13.30 dBi, respectively. Moreover, an SLL less than -20 dB, a return loss less than -35 dB, and polarization purity in the E-plane of –20.6 dB and in the H-plane of -80 dB are obtained with radiation efficiency of 53%.enDesign and experimental validationWireless power transfert applicationsDesign and Experimental Validation of a Microstrip Patch Antenna Array for Long-range Wireless Power Transfer
