The antenna design is based on a rectangular patch along with a V-shaped staircase slot on the top side of the substrate and a partial ground plane on the bottom side. This design technique allows obtaining a wideband operation with bandwidth extended from 2 GHz to more than 8 GHz. The investigated antenna shows a monopole radiation pattern in the H-plane and a bisectional radiation pattern in the E-plane. The measurement and simulation results are in a quite good agreement, which indicates that the antenna is appropriate for WCS.enAntenna measurementsWireless communicationSimulationOptical wavelength conversionBroadband antennasWidebandAntenna radiation patternsWideband Printed Antenna for Wireless Communication SystemsArticle
