The implementation of Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM) technique is used to compute the switching of pulse widths to drive Metal-Oxide- Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistors (MOSFETs) used as power switches. In the first part, MATLAB/Simulink is used to design and simulate square wave, bipolar, and unipolar inverters. In the second part, Very High-Speed Integrated Circuit Hardware Description Language (VHDL) is used to implement a digital controller housed in an FPGA Cyclone IV family. Quartus II development software is used to synthesize these digital controllers. A prototype is built in the laboratory to validate our work.enField-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA)Power inventersDesign and implementation of FPGA-based power invertersThesis
