Electromagnetic modeling of a two- winding transformer
(2019) Belgherras, Hadjer; Chalah, Samira (supervisor)
A Transformer is a static device which works on the principle of mutual induction. It transfers signals or power depending upon the type used. Today, electronic simulation is used to lower the number of prototypes needed to reach the final goal. In this project, equivalent circuits have been designed to model the electrical behavior of both “RS 217-725 Speaker Isolating/Matching Transformer” and “RS 228-567, 3.3mH Bobbin Inductor” including all steps performed to reach the final equivalent circuit. Magnetic and electrostatic properties are fully accounted for, and losses are also rather accurately represented. All the related values are electrically measurable using the impedance analyzer HP 4192A found in our institute without any dismounting of the component. To test the reliability of the final resulting equivalent circuits, it is convenient to compare the graphs deduced from the models with the experimental ones. Many electronic simulation softwares allow model-related curves to be drawn. To do so, we used MATLAB/SIMULINK software that helped us to draw the modulus and phase curves separately.
