Item Analysis of buckling stability behavior of hybrid plate using Ritz approach and numerical simulation(Elsevier, 2021) Aguib, Salah; Chikh, N.; Kobzili, L.; Djedid, T.; Nour, A.; Meloussi, MounirIn this article, we studied the instability phenomenon of plate buckling made of steel (E36-S355), and magnetorheological elastomer subject to compression loading. The study of the magnetic field intensity influence on the buckling instability of compressed hybrid plates is done by a mathematical development using the Ritz approach and by a numerical simulation under the Abaqus software. The obtained results show clearly that we can control the instabilities of the adaptive smart plate’s behavior by the magnetic field, and the orientation angle of pseudo-fibers formed by the iron particles; depending on the variation of the angle direction of the magnetic fieldItem Dynamic Analysis of the Non-Linear Behavior of a Composite Sandwich Beam with a Magnetorheological Elastomer Core(2016) Chikh, N.; Nour, Abdelkader; Aguib, Salah; Tawfiq, I.This work deals with the active control of the vibrations of mechanical structures incorporating magnetorheological elastomer. The damping coefficient and shear modulus of the elastomer increase when exposed to a magnetic field. Compared with the vibration control where the elastomer is permanently exposed to a magnetic field, the control of this process through time reduces vibrations more effectively. The experimental study for the vibrations of a sandwich beam filled with an elastomer is conducted, followed by a numerical study using the Abaqus code. The vibration damping is found to be dependent on the loading rate of micro-size ferromagnetic particles in the elastomerItem Experimental analysis and numerical simulation of the behavior of smart sandwich beams in magnetorheological elastomer–honeycomb(Springer, 2023) Guenfoud, L.; Chikh, N.; Aguib, S.; Djedid, T.; Kobzili, L.; Nour, A.; Meloussi, M.Composite structures based on magnetorheological elastomers are widely used in many industrial sectors, such as the automotive, naval, railway, aeronautical, aerospace, and building industries because of their adjustable mechanical properties by an external stimulus. In this work, the experimental tests and the numerical simulation carried out have shown that the use of these new structures, developed from a honeycomb core and a MRE core with aluminum skins, makes it possible to improve in a particular way the overall rigidity and to reduce the vibration amplitudes. The results showed that these new hybrid structures have a very good mechanical resistance due mainly to the honeycomb core and a very good shock absorber due mainly to the core of the magnetorheological elastomer. The elaborated composite structure is intended to be used in industrial sectors subject to great efforts and a high amplitude of vibration such as helicopter wings and air turbines.Item Mechanical Performances of Honeycomb Structures Reinforced by a Magnetorheological Elastomer Material: Experimental and Numerical Approaches(2024) Djedid, Toufik; Nour, A.; Aguib, S.; Chikh, N.; Settet, A.T.; Khebli, A.; Kobzili, L.; Boudjana, Abderzak; Tourab, M.In this article, the performance of mechanical resistance against failure of mechanical structures under bending load was studied by the use of a hybrid sandwich composite (Magnetorheo- logical Elastomer (MRE) - Honeycomb). Accordingly, a series of four-point bending mechanical tests were carried out. In addition, a comparison of the force-deflection responses, the values of the maxi- mum forces supported by each sample before damage were determined. Through the additional effect of the MRE core, the hybrid sandwich composite samples presented the best performances in terms of energy absorption-dissipation, and thanks to the effect of the honeycomb part, the Hybrid sandwich composite samples presented the best performance in terms of mechanical strength. To validate the performance of these developed hybrid structures, the numerical results are compared with the corre- sponding experimental results.Item Numerical and experimental investigation of the dynamic behavior of a vertical rotor(2008) Si-Chaib, M.O; Chellil, Ahmed; Nour, Abdelkader; Saci, R.; Chikh, N.; Chevalier, Y.The present study deals with the identification and evaluation of some dynamic features of a laboratory designed and manufactured rotor. The rotor, embedded-free type, rotates in a vertical position. In the free side of the rotor, a disk with defaults is fixed to simulate some physical and aerodynamic phenomena. A dynamic unbalance which simulates a known specific critical regime is imposed to the structure. This type of aeroelastic dynamic instability, called gyroscope wavering, is characterized by a precession movement of the rotor which develops fatigue and increases loads on the structure. Identification and estimation of features inherent to the vibratory behaviour of the rotor, in this regime, are determined by two approaches: Finite elements and Rayleigh-Ritz methodsItem Numerical simulation of the nonlinear static behavior of composite sandwich beams with a magnetorheological elastomer core(Elsevier, 2016) Aguib, Salah; Nour, Abdelkader; Benkoussas, B.; Tawfiq, I.; Djedid, T.; Chikh, N.
