In this dissertation, we addressed the subject of waste and set up a waste sorting and collection system at the level of the faculty of science at the university. We also measured the amount of waste generated over a one-month period. Next, we carried out a monetary valuation of the collected waste. At the end of our work, we concluded that the Faculty of Sciences produces, in one month, more than 108 kg of plastic and 83 kg of paper, with a financial value of more than 2,160 dinars for plastic and 893 dinars for paper. Waste recovery at university level is an increasingly important subject in the current context of environmental concern. This involves implementing strategies and initiatives aimed at reducing, reusing and recycling waste produced on the university campus. Waste recovery at the university level is a major challenge for promoting responsible environmental management. By raising awareness among the university community, establishing selective collection infrastructure, treating waste appropriately and promoting reuse, universities can play a key role in reducing the environmental impact of Waste.
