Designing and implementing a web-based application to manage orders o medicines in pharmacies.
(2022) Arkam, Wissam; Otmani, Abdeldjallal (Supervisor)
As can be seen today, the Internet has become part of our daily lives, and web applications assist us in many of our daily tasks; they have radically transformed our purchasing experience. As we all know, nearly everything will be done online. Medicines are now available online and can be obtained through a mobile app or a website. A web-based online medicine shop application is created in this project to make the process of purchasing medicines easier for users. The main goal of this project is to create an internet application that would provide customers with medical services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The solution we propose is a web-based system with a very user-friendly interface that will make the entire buying process simple to handle for individuals with little or no technical knowledge. The application has been deployed on the cloud to ensure zero down- time, and will run with no redundancies. The application consists of three different users with distinct dashboards: admin, customer and deliveryboy. This application allows the admin to create new medicines and users along with their specification as well as edit/delete them if desired. He can also consult the orders made by the various customers. In the other hand, the customer can consult the list of existing medicines, place an order and choose whether to pay online or cash after delivery. Finally, the deliveryboy can consult the list of orders, and edit the status of order to allow the customer to track his order at any time. This work was done utilizing the Unified Modelling Language (UML) as the development process and modeling language for the application design. In terms of implementation, we chose NodeJS and MYSQL as the Database Management System (DBMS), as well as the conventional HTML, CSS, and JavaScript programming languages, to create this application.
