Item Big data compression(2022) Boulkhiout, Mouaad; Hafri, Adel; Sadouki, Leila (Supervisor)In order to make data storage more effective and to use up less storage space, data can be compressed. Additionally, data compression helps speed up the transmission of data exchange. Currently, a variety of techniques can be employed to data compression Moreover, the outcomes and approaches of each treatment vary. The comparison of data compression will be covered in this essay. We present a detailed analysis of Five separate algorithms, Shannon-Fano, Run-Length Encoding, the Huffman Algorithm, the LZW Algorithm, and the DELTA Algorithm. To address these issues, there is a growing need for greater data compression and communication theory research. Such study addresses the needs of fast data transfer through networks. This study focuses on deep learning analysis of the most widely used picture compression methods.Item Modeling and sizing of a stand-alon PV system(2022) Madani, Amir; Sadouki, Leila (Supervisor)In 1884, a house in New York City had the first standalone photovoltaic system installed. Since then, stand-alone Photovoltaic systems have been used more frequently. These are now frequently employed in residential, commercial, and even industrial settings. The objective of this work is to design and present the best PV system to meet the electrical demand for an off-grid remote village in a reliable and sustainable way. The proposed system includes PV panels as the primary energy source, a DC-DC boost converter that was used and controlled with Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) to regulate the output DC bus voltage, a battery that was integrated with the PV system through a bidirectional DC-DC converter that was controlled using a charge controller, and the injection of the DC bus voltage to a DC-AC inverter that was connected to an LC filter to supply the loads. In order to continuously supply the prior load, which is considered to be an oxygen concentrator, the energy management system was built. The simulation was carried out to verify the functionality of different components using SIMULINK/MATLAB. The results were provided and discussed, finally, the installation of a PV system in a remote area near In Salah was studied using the PVsyst software.
