    Acaricidal activity of flavonoids extract of Borago officinalis L. (Boraginaceae) against brown dog tick, Rhipicephalus sanguineus (Latreille, 1806)

    Borago officinalis L. (Boraginaceae) is a plant of the Boraginaceae family, used in Algeria for food and medicinal purposes. This study reports the effect of flavonoids extracted from the aerial part of Borago officinalis L. (Boraginaceae) on the larvae and engorged adult females of the brown dog tick Rhipicephalus sanguineus (Latreille, 1806) using adults immersion test (AIT) and larval immersion test (LIT). For this purpose, the larvae and engorged female of Rhipicephalus sanguineus (Latreille, 1806) were exposed to serial dilutions of flavonoids extract (50 mg/ml, 25 mg/ml, 12.5 mg/ml and 6.25 mg/ml) using “dipping method” in vitro. The plant extract was obtained by fractionation using appropriate solvents. The extraction yield is 22% with a flavonoids concentration equal to 129.12 μg equivalent of quercetin/ml of the extract. The chromatographic analysis by high performance thin layer chromatography (HPTLC) reveals the presence of gallic acid, vanillic acid, kaempferol, dihydroxybenzoic and quercetin. The results obtained show that the flavonoids extract of Borago officunalis L. (Boraginaceae) considerably reduces the oviposition and the hatching rate of the eggs of Rhipicephalus sanguineus (Latreille, 1806) and was shown to be toxic against newly hatched larvae of Rhipicephalus sanguineus (Latreille, 1806) (P < 0.05)

    Characterization and assessment of the antimicrobial function of total polyphenol extracts from pulps, leaves and seeds of two ceratonia siliqua L. varieties

    The overall phytochemical test results suggested that pulp, seeds, and leaves of both grafted and spontaneous varieties are especially rich in tannins , saponins, and leuco-anthocyanins. The result of the determination of total polyphenols Ceratonia siliqua L. showed that spontaneous leaves showed that the highest value of spontaneous leaves was 14 EAGmg / g, followed by grafted seeds (11.5 EAGmg / g), and spontaneous pulps (10.2 EAGmg / g). Infra -red spectroscopy revealed the presence of many functional groups in both varieties. The antimicrobial activity is particularly found with the spantaneous leaves against Escherichia coli (21.83 ± 0.93 mm) and Staphylococcus aureus (16.36 ± 0.63 mm) Microccus sp (15.83 ± 0.73 mm) and leaves grafted against Pseudomonas aeruginosa (14.30 ± 0.35 mm)

    L’importance Des Extraits D’urtica Dioica L. Dans La Lutte Contre Culex Pipiens (linné, 1758)

    En terme d'importance épidémiologique mondiale pour l'homme, les moustiques sont considérés comme le premier groupe de vecteurs. İls sont responsable de la nuisance (piqures douloureuses et gênantes) et de la transmission des maladies parasitaires comme le paludisme, le chikungunya, la fièvre jaune. La lutte contre les culicidés, comprend plusieurs méthodes, mais la lutte biologique reste la plus sure et la plus sélective, car elle dépend des ennemis naturels sans provoquer des dégâts sur l'environnement. Dans le cadre de ce travail une extraction, une analyse spectrale par infrarouge (IR) ainsi que l’évaluation de l’effet de l’extrait aqueux extraits et des alcaloïdes de la Grande ortie contre les moustiques Culex pipiens ont été effectué. L’analyse spectrale par infrarouge montre l’existence d’une diversité de groupement fonctionnel caractéristiques des alcaloïdes tel que le groupement alcyn, nitrile, ester et amide. Les résultats du test insecticide montrent également que l’extrait aqueux et celui des alcaloïdes d’Urtica dioica L., présentent des propriétés insecticides importantes dont les valeurs de la DL50 pour les larves L4 sont de 4,48 mg/ml pour l’extrait aqueux, et de 6,91 mg/ml pour les alcaloïdes.
