Building a management system for IGEE's general mean store
(2021) Bendjedia, Djamel Eddine; Zitouni, A. (Supervisor)
The project proposes technical solutions to problems related to IGEE’s general means store management. The aim of this project is to optimize the management of the store and to facilitate the work through creating an interactive web application that runs on a web server in order to simplify the work and automate the management of the store. Analysis of the current management process and tasks of the store employee is necessary for enhancing the management process of the store. The web application helps in avoiding mistakes and reducing time and efforts. It will automate tasks of the storekeeper related to products, their categories and their transaction records. This project has been carried out using the design and development processes. The design had been handled using the Unified Modeling Language (UML). For the implementation of this web application, several web development tools and skills had been used: HTML, CSS, PHP, and MariaDB.

Design and Implementation of a Web-Based Management System. Case of The Payroll Office of the “IGEE”.
(2021) Ladgi, Lina; Fodil, Sara; Zitouni, A. (Supervisor)
As a variety of web technologies continues to grow, developers are able to create fast, responsive and modern applications. The goal of this report is to lay the foundations for web-based employee control management system dedicated to the payroll office staff in the institute. Such a web application makes it possible to facilitate the work of the office by automating the management of the employees and the calculations. The developed application is easy to set up and maintain by users with little or no technical expertise. This design work related to the application has been carried out using the development process and the modelling language, Unified Modelling Language (UML), for designing the application. As for the implementation, we have chosen to program the application with PHP (Hypertext pre-processor), MYSQL, in conjunction with the standard HTML, CSS, and JavaScript programming languages.

Dispersion compensation schemes- a system perspective
(2021) Derias, Nour El Houda; Ben cherif Ikhlef, Djelloul; Zitouni, A. (Supervisor)
One of the main factors limiting the performance of WDM systems is dispersion. The use of dispersion compensation fiber (DCF) is the most commonly used dispersion compensation method in WDM systems. In this work, the performance WDM systems atfrequency of 193.1THz. with different dispersion compensation schemes using DCF (pre compensation, post compensation and symmetrical compensation techniques) are analysedin terms of BER and Q factor. As a first part of the simulation. In the next part, 4-Channel WDM system is designed and simulated. all channels were discussed as Q factors and eye diagrams dependent on change in different parameters, such as signal input power, bite rate, and variations of both DCF and SMF length each alone. once the simulation is presented without compensation, then DCF technique is added as dispersion compensators in different configurations. Finally, 8-Channel WDM system is designed and simulated and tested under a list of parameters signal input power, bit rate DCF and SMF lengths. The effect of all the previous parameters were studied on different channels then the obtained results are presented.

Implementation of a PC-Based Phasor measurement unit using LabVIEW
(2019) Benlakehal, Mohamed Elamine; Benlakehal, Mohamed Elamine; Benterkia, Mahdi; Zitouni, A. (Supervisor)
In this report, we will explain the different steps to construct a Phasor Measurements Unit. These steps include, building an anti-aliasing filter using Sallen-Key topology, demonstrating the synchronization process using GPS and PLL circuit and implementing the phasor estimation based on Discrete Fourier Transform DFT algorithm and LabVIEW. The overall system has been successfully tested by connecting it to real signals and three-phase voltages amplitudes and phases are extracted then plotted on the computer screen either in time domain or as phasor-vectors.

Study and imulation of the MIMO enabling technology in the LTE system
(2016) Bammoune, Nabil; Belaid, Abdelmadjid; Zitouni, A. (Supervisor)
Multi-antenna (MIMO) techniques are reported to improve the performance of radio communication systems in terms of their capacity and spectral efficiency. Long Term Evolution(LTE), one of the candidates for fourth generation(4G) mobile communication systems has MIMO as one of its underlying technologies and ITU defined channel models for its propagating environment. This project undertakes a comprehensive verification of the performance of spatial multiplexing MIMO in the downlink sector of LTE. The study and the analysis is done by the use of models built using MATLAB and Simulink to carry out simulations. It is deduced that spatial multiplexing improves spectral efficiency and increases data rate of the transmission. This is more pronounced if more antennas are used in the transmitter and the receiver. Furthermore, precoding operation for open loop and closed loop spatial multiplexing depends on the channel conditions.

Study, simulation and estimation of losses of a DWDM point-to-point topology network using OTDR
(2020) Chelihi, Nehad; Bouhadda, Fatma Zohra; Zitouni, A. (Supervisor)
The aim of this project is to study the effect of the input power and the two different compensation techniques DCF and FBG on the performance of an eight channel Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) line topology designed at wavelength 1550 nm, at three transmission speeds: 30, 60 and 90 Gbps. OptiSystem v.7.0 is used for building the overall system and carrying out simulations. The performance of the system is reported on the basis of eye diagram, Q-factor and Bit Error Rate (BER). The efficiencies of the two compensation methods, at high and low bit rates and input powers, are compared and presented in our final result discussion. In addition, a practical study have been done on the system by measuring the optical losses of the link using an optical time domain reflectometer (OTDR) at both 1310 and 1550 nm wavelengths to ensure its reliability and readiness to function well.
