Item FPGA-Based Car-Like robot path follower with obstacle avoidance(IEEE, 2020) Moulay, Aicha; Laoufi, Fatima; Benslimane, Tarak; Abdelkhalek, OthmaneThis project is about the design and implementation of an System on Programmable Chip (SoPC) based automated path following with obstacle avoidance using infrared sensors and ultrasonic sensor. The Line follower robot is a mobile machine that can detect and follow the line drawn on the floor using infrared sensors which are installed under the robot. The path is predefined as a black line on a white surface with a high contrasted color. This robot is provided with ultrasonic sensor to avoid an obstacle either from the right or the and it will stop if an obstacle is detected on the path or if the path is ended. The digital controller is designed and implemented using both the integrated circuits and the Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA)Item Conception and implementation of single and simultaneous two diodes open faults automatic detection and localization algorithm in six diodes three phase rectifier bridge(2008) Benslimane, TarakThe faulty performance of six diodes three phase rectifier is studied under one and two simultaneous open-diodes conditions. This rectifier is feeding a resistive load. The rectifier three phases currents zero harmonic components and their maximum and minimum values are used as diagnostic indices. A knowledge algorithm is based to get information on which IGBT is in open-switch fault condition. This algorithm testing shows that the system could not only detect the open-switch fault, but also identify the faulty switches. Presented simulation results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed methodologyItem Use of asymmetrical currents waveforms to detect and localize open switch faults for two level voltage source inverter three-phase shunt active power filter(2011) Benslimane, Tarak; Chetate, Boukhmis; Abdelkrim, ThameurThis paper proposes an open switch faults detection and localization algorithm for shunt three phase active filter topology. It mainly details converter configuration and examines a simple and reliable optimized fault diagnosis method. The converter topology is based on classical three-leg active power filter topology. New fault diagnosis method is proposed, based on classical currents measurements. It includes combinatory logic to analyze and validate error signals. Hysteresis control is applied before and after fault detection, which avoids any controller reconfiguration. Simulation results obtained with Matlab/Simulink/Plecs tools prove the effectiveness of this methodItem Open switch faults detection and localization algorithm for three phase shunt active power filter based on two level voltage source inverter in main power supply constant and variable frequency conditions(2009) Benslimane, Tarak; Abdelkrim, ThameurThis paper proposes an open switch faults detection and localization algorithm for shunt three phase active filter topology. It mainly details converter configuration and examines a simple and reliable optimised fault diagnosis method. The converter topology is based on classical three-leg active power filter topology. A new fault diagnosis method is proposed, based on classical currents measurements. It includes combinatory logic to analyse and validate error signals. Simulation results obtained with Matlab/Simulink/Plecs tools prove the effectiveness of this methodItem A new diagnostic method of faulty transistor in a three-phase inverter(2006) Benslimane, Tarak; Chetate, BoukhmisThis paper describes a method of detection and identification of transistor base drive open-circuit fault of 3-phase voltage source inverter (VSI), feeding an open loop controlled induction motor. The detection mechanism is based on a novel technique of wavelet transform. In this method, the stator currents will be used as an input to the system. No direct access to the induction motor is required. The simulation results are presentedItem Feedback control of three-level PWM rectifier : application to the stabilization of DC voltages of five-level NPC active power filter(2010) Thameur, Abdelkrim; Berkouk, El Madjid; Benslimane, Tarak; Benamrane, KarimaOne of the most important drawbacks of the three phases five-level NPC (Neutral Point Clamped) Active Power Filter (APF) is the neutral point balance. As the consequence, the capacitors voltages of the input DC bus of the APF are not equal which constitutes the major limitation for the use of this power converter. In order to stabilize these DC voltages, it is proposed in this paper to study the cascade constituted by three phases three-level PWM rectifier-clamping bridge filter-five-level NPC APF. In the first part, the authors present a topology of five-level NPC Voltage Source Inverter (VSI), and then, they propose a model of this converter and its PWM control strategy. In the second part, the modeling and control of three-level PWM current rectifier is presented. In the third part, to remedy to instability problem of the input capacitors DC voltages of the APF, the authors propose feedback control of the three-level PWM rectifier followed by clamping bridge filter. After that, the sliding mode regulator used to control the active filter is developed. The obtained results are full of promise to use this topology of APF in high voltage and high power applications
