Item A distributed monitoring scheme for a fleet of UAV flying drones(2022) Nouasri, Amine; Riahla, Mohamed AmineIn this paper, we present a solution that would allow members of a unmanned Arial vehicles (UAV) drone fleet to cooperate with each other in order to monitor the network regarding incidents that could compromise security or impact service continuity during their mission. The proposed work implements a scheme to allow each drone to monitor the activity of immediate neighbours without a central control authority, and share that information. This is in order to decide of an action in case of a security incident or a degradation of their service has occurred. The purpose is to allow the network to be resilient and adopt itself to insure service continuity. The method we used allow the detection of incidents without the use of complex security and routing solutions, or the need to communicate back and forth with a central control authority. Our method uses four parameters to insure service continuity in the network: link quality, forwarding rate, checksum rate and mobility coordinates. This is to allow the detection of multiple incidents using the same scheme.Item Towards a Blockchain and Software-Defined Vehicular Networks Approaches to Secure Vehicular Social Network(IEEE, 2018) Yahiatene, Youcef; Rachedi, AbderrezakIn this paper, we propose a new framework based on two main concepts: Software-Defined Vehicular Networks (SDVN) and Blockchain to efficiently manage and secure Vehicular Social Network (VSN). Using SDVN makes the network programmable, virtualized, and partitionable, but also it creates a well-known vulnerability named single-point of failure. Hence we propose to introduce a Blockchain paradigm that enables to certify the transactions and provide anonymity of data in distributed way using miners nodes. To this end, we introduce three levels of controllers: Principal controller (PC), Road Side Units (RSU) and miners. The PC has a global overview of the network like network topology. The RSU is an intermediate between the PC and the miners. We select local controllers acting as miners due to safety and performance. In order to select miners, we propose a Distributed Miners Connected Dominating Set algorithm (DM-CDS). The DM-CDS is a distributed algorithm with a single phase that supports dynamic topology. The selection of miners is based on a function called miner-score which depends on trust parameter particularly trust metric and network parameters such as: the connectivity degree, the average link quality indicator and the rank. The performance of the proposed DM-CDS is evaluated using many scenarios with different parameters like trust metric, node density, node mobility and radio range. The obtained results show the importance of the proposed architecture in terms of number of miners (CDS size) and robustness with different scenarios.Item Power transformer differential relay reliability assessment using false trip root cause analysis(IEEE, 2020) Zitouni, AbdelkaderPower transformer is vital element in power grid. Its failure may affect on the continuity of supply of electrical energy to the consumers. A differential relay, which is generally used for protecting this power transformer, may be affected by the disturbances such as inrush current, current transformer saturation and over-excitation due to external faults. Accordingly, false trips (mal-operation) of protection system may be resulted in. This research work proposes root cause analysis based on fault tree analysis to be used for assessing disturbances that lead to false trips. When the critical root causes are identified, mitigation measures are used. The model of security can help to quantify analytically the reliability of the considered protection systemItem An embedded e-voting machine with smart card(Inderscience, 2016) Dichou, Karima; Tourtchine, Victor; Rahmoune, FaysalItem Distance relay reliability enhancement using false trip root cause analysis(Springer, 2017) Zitouni, Abdelkader; Ouadi, Abderrahmane; Bentarzi, Hamid; Chafai, MahfoudItem An improved electronic voting machine using a microcontroller and a smart card(IEEE, 2015) Dichou, Karima; Tourtchine, Victor; Rahmoune, Faycal
