Abstract

No discerning observer can deny the role of emotion in shaping the stylistic structure of the Quranic text. The richness and expressive density of the Quran have endowed it with multiple functions and diverse purposes. A key manifestation of this aesthetic depth and semantic breadth is the Quran's use of the prohibitive style in relation to the recipient's psychological dimension. Limiting the prohibitive style to the framework of forbiddance and abandonment has stripped it of its stylistic deviation and semantic shift. Consequently, prohibition remains confined within a conventional rhetorical approach, guided only by the semantics of forbiddance and proscription, without delving into the textual, spiritual, and emotional dimensions of reception .This research, therefore, seeks to highlight the semantics of īnas (consolation) in the various styles of prohibition found in the Quran.
