dc.description.abstractThis course handout of the ‘Operations Research’ module is aimed at second year Master’s students in Automatic Control, from the Industrial Process Automation and Electrification department of the Faculty of Hydrocarbons and Chemistry. Operations research involves research into the various operations and activities of organizations. Thus, its methods are applied to problems that relate to the conduct and coordination of operations (activities) within an organization. Operations research has been applied extensively in various sectors such as manufacturing, transportation, construction, telecommunications, financial planning, healthcare, military and public services.
