Simulation study of high-order modulation formats in optical communication
    (2021) Ledraa, Abderahmane; Zitouni, Abdelkader
The aim of this work is to do a qualitative study by simulation two different advanced high-order modulation schemes: 8PSK and 8QAM in modern optical fiber communication system, and show the effects of the input power and fiber length at three-bit rates level: 15, 30 and 54 Gbps. The performance of the optical fiber link in terms of constellation diagram for the four modulation schemes is compared and discussed.

Study and simulation af different DCF configuration in optical fiber communication link
(2021) Sahnoune, Abdelghani; Ouargli, Mohamed Mehdi; Zitouni, Abdelkader
To overcome dispersion in an optical communication system, we propose a new approach to reduce further the chromatic dispersion based on using Dispersion Compensating Fibers (DCF). The proposed approach consists of splitting the fiber link into different configurations and investigate each configuration by simulation in order to determine the most appropriate one with regard to the Quality-Factor and Bit Error Rate. The obtained eye diagrams confirm achievement of complete reduction of chromatic dispersion in the fiber at long distance communication. Optisystem version 7.0 is used as a software tool for experimental validation of the proposed approach.

Comparative study and simulation of the polymer optical fiber (POF) and glass optical fiber(GOF) in FTTH application
(2020) Alilouche, Assia; Dahmani, Sylia; Zitouni, Abdelkader
The aim of this project is to study the effect of three parameters: fiber length, bit rate and power of transmission on the transmission performance of a Polymer Optical Fiber and Glass Optical Fiber in a local area network. OptiSystem software is used to simulate the overall system. The performance of the optical fiber link in terms of BER, eye diagram and quality factor for the three parameters is compared and discussed. A comparison between the POF and GOF fibers is undertaken.
