| dc.description.abstract | Power system protection is a governing branch in Power Engineering due to its im- portance in the elimination of faults hence ensuring the stability of the network and the continuity of the service. Modern power systems can not operate properly with- out well designed protection which results in an increasing need for good performing electrical protective devices. This report represents the implementation of protec- tive functions of a multi-function SEL-451 relay using SEL logic. The construction of the functions was done using the software of Schweitzer Engineering Laborato- ries AcSELerator QuickSet which is used with all SEL devices. The functions were implemented in the SEL-451 Schweitzer protective relay and their functionality was tested using Omicron test tool CMC 356. The obtained results of the constructed functions are compared with the existing ones in the relay. | en_US |
