Abstract

This Study addresses hydrocarbon production decline in seven mature wells within the Hassi R'Mel field, primarily caused by low reservoir pressure. To enhance oil recovery, the gas lift systems were optimized. Utilizing PROSPER software, the production systems were modeled, and Nodal Analysis was employed to integrate the reservoir's Inflow Performance Relationship (IPR) with the wellbore's Vertical Lift Performance (VLP). The methodology leveraged established multiphase flow equations and simulation tools to accurately predict well behavior under various gas injection rates and operating conditions. Through sensitivity analysis and optimization techniques, the study determined optimal gas injection rates and efficient gas distribution across the wells. The primary objective was to achieve sustainable production increases and reduce operating costs by precisely balancing injected gas volume with maximized liquid recovery, ultimately enhancing overall field profitability. Results demonstrated a 6.7% increase in oil production, achieved with an additional gas injection of 101,200 Sm3/day, yielding substantial economic benefits.
