Abstract

This report investigates the design and implementation of a Three Level T-Type Inverter with the objective of delivering superior AC output with reduced harmonic distortion. Traditional inverters often face challenges with harmonic distortions, which negatively impact the efficienc yan dqualit yo fpowe rconversion .Th eThree Level T-Type Inverter, however, offers a promising alternative due to its unique topology and operational advantages. In this study, a T-Type inverter was designed and implemented using Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM) for control, with Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors (IGBTs) as switching devices. A single-leg T-Type inverter configuratio nwa semploye dt ogenerat eth edesire doutput .Th eperformanc eo fth einverter was tested with an RL load, and various parameters were analyzed to assess the quality of the output signal. The results demonstrated that the inverter successfully generated a sine wave at the output, with the signal quality improving as the switching frequency (fs) increased. Additionally, it was observed that increasing the inductance in the RL load further enhanced the quality of the output signal by reducing harmonic distortion. This report confirm stha tThre eLeve lT-Typ eInverter sca neffectivel ydelive rsuperio rA Coutpu twith minimized harmonic distortion, making them a viable option for high-quality power conversion applications.
