Abstract

A solar monitoring system is an important part in solar photovoltaic energy production. It ensures the solar equipment status by acquiring the energy generation and consumption data to detect any problem with solar installation. It can be fixed before occur any damage on the hardware that can cause a perturbation on the energy efficiency of photovoltaic system. In this work, it is developed a low-cost monitoring and data collection system for a mini photovoltaic solar power station, based on the nano-computer raspberry pi that supports Linux (Debian) operating system. The programming language (Python, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and SQL), the messaging protocol MQTT (Message Queuing Telemetry Transport), software sets of modules (libraries), the database SQLite and Node-RED was used to program monitoring graphical user interface. Very representative data were recorded and compared with real time values from the center of development of renewable energy CDER of Bouzareah/Algiers/Algeria
