The project aims to design and analyze a microstrip slotted monopole antenna for sub- 6 GHz 5G applications. The antenna is designed using symmetrical staircase and a ring slot. The proposed antenna is simulated using High Frequency SimulationSoftware (HFSS) to analyze its performance. The antenna exhibits a dual-bandbehavior. The first band extends from 2.3 to 4.9 GHz with a resonance at 3.5 GHzwhereas the second band ranges from 5.3 to 7.2 GHz with a resonance at 6.6 GHz.The antenna is highly efficient with a maximum efficiency of about 97% and a peakgain of 3.4 dBi.Based on the developed single patch, a 2x1 Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO)is developed. The obtained configuration provides qualitative Envelop CorrelationCoefficient ad diversity gain making it suitable for sub-6 GHz 5G applications.en_US
