In this project a new shape of DMS is proposed and applied for an antenna designed to radiate at 2.5 GHz. The same shape is applied as defected ground structure. It is found that size reduction with both techniques is possible. The proposed DMS achieves 55.4% of size reduction whereas DGS achieves 67%. Effects of using both techniques with the proposed shape on bandwidth and radiation pattern are also compareden_US
