This project embodies the design and analysis of a miniaturized patch antenna using fractal defected ground (DGS) and defected Microstrip structure (DMS-SRR) for GPS/GSM, RADAR/SATELLITE, WiMAX and C band applications A modified Minkowiski fractal slot is integrated on the ground plane of lamda/4 fed planar antenna for size reduction .Initially a basic hexagonal patch antenna operates at 6.8GHz is designed. To achieve miniaturization of 73.52%, 55.88%, 39.41 and 19.11% the antenna is integrated with fractal defected ground plane and defected Microstrip structure (DMS-SRR), which makes the antenna to resonate at 1.86GHz, 3.02GHz, 4.12GHz and 5.5GHz frequency bands. The related results show the accuracy of the theoretical studies and good agreement between simulated and measured results, which verify that the antenna has adequate advantages, with a simple structure, compact size, multiband, and it is a suitable candidate for wireless communication applications.
