This work presents a multifunctional photovoltaic array-based shunt active power filter (PV- SAPF). The model aims to supply power to the nonlinear load 24 hours a day from either PV, Grid or combining the both sources according to the solar irradiance, and eliminating harmonics of current and reactive power of the local installation load. Along with a PV active power injection, eliminating harmonics and reactive power compensation, the model is evaluated in partial shading conditions. For this, a Global Maximum Power Point Tracking (GMPPT) technique capable of quickly tracking the point of maximum power even in the presence of several peaks in the power-voltage curve of the proposed PV array. The p-q Theory is used to calculate the harmonic reference current to be used to control the active filter coupled photovoltaic in generating anti-harmonic currents. Consequently, it is confirmed that the proposed solar supplied APF improves the grid power quality and the THD values. In fact, the system can reduce harmonic distortion from THD 26.10% being obtained without active filter to be 0.7% under uniform irradiance of 1000W/m². Whereas, under partial shading conditions, the proposed system reduces it to be 1.84%. The main result of the project is that power has been injected to the network (Grid + Load) while the total harmonic distortion is kept within the limits prescribed by IEEE- 519 standard.en_US
