This work presents the design of a reconfigurable triple-band microstrip band stop filter (BSF) with high performance based on defected microstrip structure (DMS) technique. The proposed filter rejects the frequencies 1.61, 2.8, 4.53 GHz that are used for Mobile-Satellite Service, Aeronautical Radionavigation Service and Fixed-Satellite Service applications. In order to generate the switchable characteristics, three copper bridges were introduced at the tri-band filter. Depending on ON/OFF states of the switches, eight states are generated for this structure, these states leads to four different modes of application. The simulation results show a promising performance that could be further examined during fabrication and experimental works in a laboratory, demonstrating good insertion and return losses. This filter has adjustable multi-band operation and simple topology which makes it very useful for wireless communication systems and its applications.en_US
