Item Maximum power point tracking of single stage solar water pumping system under partial shading condition(2023) Sabeur, Anis; Amraoui, Oussama; Ammar, Abdelkarim (Supervisor)This work presents a comprehensive investigation of a single-stage battery-less stand-alone solar water pumping system, utilizing an induction motor for pump operation. A double function voltage source inverter (VSI) controlled by a switching table based on direct torque control (DTC), and employing Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) techniques to optimize system performance. The primary objective is to evaluate the system's behavior and efficiency under normal and shaded conditions by implementing various MPPT algorithms, including Perturb and Observe (P&O), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), and Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO). The research begins with an in-depth analysis of the system components, including the solar panels, inverter, induction motor, and MPPT algorithms. Theoretical aspects of the induction motor, VSI, DTC, and MPPT techniques are studied to establish a solid understanding of their interactions within the solar water pumping system. A test setup is implemented, simulating real-world scenarios to evaluate the system's response and efficiency. Data is collected, and comparative analysis are performed to determine the effectiveness of each MPPT algorithm in terms of tracking the maximum power point, optimizing power output under partial shading condition.
