Robustness Enhancement of Fractionalized Order Proportional Integral Controller for Speed Control of Indirect Field-Oriented Control Induction Motor
(Wydawnictwo SIGMA-NOT, 2024) Ousaadi, Zahira; Akroum, Hamza; Idir, Abdelhakim
This article presents a novel approach for controlling an induction motor (IM) drive using a fractionalized order proportional integral (FrOPI) controller within an indirect field-oriented control (IFOC) scheme. In contrast to the conventional Integer Order PI controllers (IOPI), the FrOPI controllers demonstrate enhanced performance owing to their nonlinear characteristics and the inherent iso-damping property of fractional-order operators. The performance of the induction motor is thoroughly assessed under various conditions, including starting, running, speed reversal, and sudden changes in load torque. Simulation results are then presented to confirm the effectiveness of the induction motor drive when utilizing the FrOPI controller

Real-Time Reduction of rotor position estimation error based on the stator flux Estimation-Combined method for sensorless control of PMSMs drives
(Praise Worthy Prize S.r.l, 2021) Aibeche, Abderrezak; Akroum, Hamza; Boudouda, Aimad; Kidouche, Madjid; Doghmane, Mohamed Zinelabidine
This paper presents the implantation and the performance improvement of real-time reduction of rotor position estimation error based on the stator flux estimation-combined method for sensorless control of PMSMs drives. Wherein, the proposed method is designed based on a simple algorithm for accurate estimation and robust control of quasi-exact stator flux and position/speed of PMSMs. A large-speed range of applications in sensorless control strategies is achieved by using the mathematical model of PMSM motor. The latter presents the main idea of the estimators’ structures design. They are generally composed of voltage and current models (VM and CM). However, the dynamic performances of these methods are influenced in the low and high-speed ranges, and they are sensitive to parameters variations. The estimators’ structures are dominated by the current model at the low-speed range, and by the voltage model at the high-speed range. The technique proposed in this study is the combination of the two preceding models; this provides performances’ improvement in the PMSM dynamics for a large speed variation with compensating estimation errors for the two separate methods (VM and CM). The main objective of this combined method is the drawback reduction for the separate use of VM and CM estimators. The algorithm principle is based on exploiting and combining the two estimators while measuring the stator voltages and the currents, in addition to estimating the rotor position and the speed. Furthermore, the performances of the proposed method have been tested and validated through real-time experiments by using dSPACE ds 1104 DSP board

Double-gate MOSFET model implemented in verilog-AMS language for the transient simulation and the configuration of ultra low-power analog circuits
(Polska Akademia Nauk, 2021) Smaani, Billel; Meraihi, Yassine; Nafa, Fares; Benlatreche, Mohamed Salah; Akroum, Hamza; Latreche, Saida
This paper deals with the implementation of a DC and AC double-gate MOSFET compact model in the Verilog-AMS language for the transient simulation and the configuration of ultra low-power analog circuits. The Verilog-AMS description of the proposed model is inserted in SMASH circuit simulator for the transient simulation and the configuration of the Colpitts oscillator, the common-source amplifier, and the inverter. The proposed model has the advantages of being simple and compact. It was validated using TCAD simulation results of the same transistor realized with Silvaco Software

Green hydrogen production by Rhodobacter sphaeroides
(Taylor and Francis Online, 2019) Akroum-Amrouche, Dahbia; Akroum, Hamza; Lounici, Hakim
The photo-fermentative biohydrogen production using photosynthetic purple non-sulfur and non-oxygenic bacteria Rhodobacter sphaeroides is a very promising green technology. In this paper, several strategies conducted in the literature to make the bioprocess more economical, less expensive and more efficient have been reviewed. The used of co-cultures and genetic modification strategies increased the yield and the rate of hydrogen production. Also, the biohydrogen production using organic wastes as a substrate, an environmentally friendly process, in several reactors designs with immobilized and suspension cultures have been employed to achieve a high conversion efficiency of the substrate and light energy. At the optimized conditions, the hydrogen production enhances and becomes more economi

Modeling methods used in bioenergy production processes: A review
(Techno press, 2020) Akroum, Hamza; Akroum-Amrouche, Dahbia; Aibeche, Abderrazak
The enhancements of bioenergy production effectiveness require the comprehensively experimental study of several parameters affecting these bioprocesses. The interpretation of the obtained experimental results and the estimation of optimum yield are extremely complicated such as misinterpreting the results of an experiment. The use of mathematical modeling and statistical experimental designs can consistently supply the predictions of the potential yield and the identification of defining parameters and also the understanding of key relationships between factors and responses. This paper summarizes several mathematical models used to achieve an adequate overall and maximal production yield and rate, to screen, to optimize, to identify, to describe and to provide useful information for the effect of several factors on bioenergy production processes. The usefulness, the validity and, the feasibility of each strategy for studying and optimizing the bioenergy-producing processes were discussed and confirmed by the good correlation between predicted and measured values

Experimental research of diagnostic measurement tests for power transformers
(2013) Aibeche, Abderrazak; Grouni, S.; Akroum, Hamza; Boualegue, K.
This paper deals with experimental research of practical diagnostics measurement tests in industrial power transformers. In practical research we analyze the quality insulation diagnostic. The transformers system insulation is evaluated by using diagnostics of the dissipation factor in data industrial transformer (250 MVA, 15.75/220 kV) application. The insulation quality of power transformer is determined by multiple measurement tests of the insulation resistance winding, capacitance and dielectric dissipation factor. The measurement tests of dissipation factor given at the end of the production cycle not only assures that the quality of the transformer meets the specified levels but also provides insight into the subtleties of the manufacturing process. This paper gives an experimental research of measurement tests setup of dielectric dissipation factor that used GST and Guard mode techniques of earthling systems transformers insulation
