Predicting Methane Hydrate Formation Temperature in the Presence of Diverse Brines Using Explainable Artificial Intelligence
(American Chemical Society, 2025) Nait Amar, Menad; Zeraibi, Noureddine; Alqahtani, Fahd Mohamad; Djema, Hakim; Benamara, Chahrazed; Saifi, Redha; Gareche, Mourad; Ghasemi, Mohammad; Merzoug, Ahmed
Thisstudy presents three advanced techniques, includingthe leastsquares support vector machine (LSSVM), categorical boosting (CatBoost),and cascaded forward neural network (CFNN), to model methane hydrateformation temperature (MHFT) across various brines under a wide pressurerange. Utilizing a comprehensive data set of nearly 1000 samples, the models underwent rigorous training and testing phases. Graphicalanalyses and statistical assessment confirmed the high accuracy ofthe implemented models, with the CFNN scheme outperforming the others, achieving a total root-mean-square error (RMSE) of 0.3569 and an R2 of 0.9977. Comparison with existing modelsfurther highlighted the CFNN model’s superior performance.Additionally, the Shapley Additive exPlanning (SHAP) method was employedto enhance the aspects related to predictions’ explainabilityby assessing the impact of different inputs on the outcomes. Lastly, the proposed model holds significant potential for advancing industrialand academic applications related to hydrate phenomena

Removal of hydrocarbons and heavy metals from petroleum water by modern green nanotechnology methods
(2023) Bouafia, Abderrhmane; Meneceur, Souhaila; Chami, Souheyla; Laouini, Salah Eddine; Daoudi, Henda; Legmairi, Souheila; Menaa, Farid
Considered heavy metals, such as As(III), Bi(II), Cd(II), Cr(VI), Mn(II), Mo(II), Ni(II), Pb(II), Sb(III), Se(-II), Zn(II), and contaminating chemical compounds (monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbons such as phenolic or polycyclic derivatives) in wastewater (petrochemical industries: oil and gas production plants) are currently a major concern in environmental toxicology due to their toxic efects on aquatic and terrestrial life. In order to maintain biodiversity, hydrosphere ecosystems, and people, it is crucial to remove these heavy metals and polluting chemical compounds from the watery environment. In this study, diferent Nanoparticles (α-Fe2O3, CuO, and ZnO) were synthesized by green synthesis method using Portulaca oleracea leaf extract and characterized by UV–Vis spectrophotometers, FTIR spectroscopy, X-Ray Difraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) techniques in order to investigate morphology, composition, and crystalline structure of NPs, these were then used as adsorbent for the removal of As(III), Bi(II), Cd(II), Cr(VI), Mn(II), Mo(II), Ni(II), Pb(II), Sb(III), Se(-II), and Zn(II) from wastewater, and removal efciencies of were obtained 100% under optimal conditions

Fiabilist and economic approaches to optimisation of the renewal of hydrocarbons transporting pipelines
(2013) Abdelbaki, Noureddine; Gaceb, Mohamed; Bouali, Elahhmoune; Bettayeb, Mourad; Bouzid, Rachid
Problems of hydrocarbons transporting pipelines agi ng and rehabilitation are currently a major concern for operators of such installations. Rehabilitating and insuring hydrocarbons transporting pipelines, require interventions, such as the renovation of existing lines, the replacement of some pipelines with new ones, in order to meet the growing demand of consumers and improve the supply reliability. In this context, a decision to repair or replace a section of pipe must co mbine both a technical analysis of failures and sound economic analysis of the choice of possible interventions , which is the purpose of this study, dedicated to research and policy determination of repair and replac ement of aged pipe sections, taking into account the factors mentioned above, and based on significant feedback

Essential oil of cytisus triflorus L'Her
    (2013) Aourahoum, K.; Aissaoui, M.; Fazouane, F.; Larit, F.; Chalard, P.; Chalchat, J.C.; Figueredo, G.
The essential oil of Cytisus triflorus L'Her., a Mediterranean species was obtained by steam distillation and identified by GC and GC-MS. 61 compounds were determined. The oxygenated terpenoidic components constituted the most important fraction (64%) followed by the fatty acids (8.2%) and the hydrocarbonated fractions (10.7%)
