Abstract
This thesis focuses on the design and implementation of a Software-DefinedNetwork (SDN) for a Local Area Network (LAN), aiming to modernize traditional networking to improve management, scalability, and security. By separatingthecontrol and data planes, the system uses SDN controllers like Floodlight withinaMininet virtual environment. Based on the Sonatrach industrial network model, it includes VLAN segmentation and traffic engineering via OpenFlow. Additional features such as load balancing, firewall rules, and static flow entries are implementedto enhance performance and security
