Abstract

The farmed quail is a small bird that is raised for its flesh and especially for its eggs which is full of many therapeutic interests. It has gained very great economic importance. Currently the breeding of Japanese quail is not very well known, and is practiced in Algeria only by a few amateurs, but it could play a big role in the diversification of the protein supply given its great technical zoo performance. Indeed, the production of eggs and quail meat are inseparable speculations. However, quails are very early and fast growing. Females can lay from the 5th week of age up to 300 eggs / year.
